DHD Salon's Top Tips for Beautiful Hair and Makeup on your Wedding Day

TIP #1 - Choose a salon that specialises in hair & makeup packages & has the experience to organise a timetable with a team of experts working on your whole wedding party to have you looking glamorous & get you out on time.

TIP #2 - Choose a salon that specialises in human hair pieces & extensions that can be colour matched to be integrated in with your own hair making them undetectable & also offers a hire service as you probably will only want to use the hair peices for the day. This option makes them affordable.

TIP #3 - Hair & makeup packages are cost effective & time efficient & should only take approx 3 hrs, depending on the number of stylists working on your total party. Having more than one stylist ensures that everyone of your bridal party will receive attention to detail, which means you will be on time
without compromising the quality of hairstyling & makeup.

TIP #4 - Its important that your hairdresser is a qualified hairdresser & loves creating beautiful hair. Make sure you have a consultation before you book your trial. Consultations should be free of charge & take approx 30 mins. Choose a hairstyle that suits your wedding theme, style of dress & of course your facial features.

TIP #5 - Have your trial done on the day of your last dress fitting, this way you will be able to see the total look. Remember to take photos so that you can show your stylist, this makes it easier to point out any changes you may like to make before the big day. Expect to pay for your trial after all your stylist should be putting as much effort into your trial as on your wedding day.

Checklist

• Check how many stylists will be used to complete your entire bridal
  party, you don’t want to be getting ready for 8-9 hrs of the day.
• Have your hair coloured 1 week before the day. This allows your colour to settle, but no time for regrowth to appear it also gives you time to make any changes if need be. Darker colours like black, chocolate & brunettes look better with vivid white gowns, Lighter colours like blondes, red heads & honey colours look better with off white & crème gowns.
• Don’t have your hair trimmed in the 6 weeks prior the day. A tapered end on curls is much more flattering than a blunt end.
• Don’t put a deep conditioning treatment in your hair the week before. This can often make your hair limp & hard to style.
• Choosing the right style team for your big day will ensure you leave the salon feeling & looking radiant & confident, a happy bride sets the mood for the whole day.
